Mulled wine or “spiced wine” is traditionally wine and “mulling spices” such as cinnamon, cloves, allspice, star anise, peppercorn, and cardamon. It is traditionally served warm during winter and Christmas markets in Western Europe. Fruits such as apples, raisins, orange rinds, and frozen blueberries are sometimes added to bring a little fruit brightness to the cold long winters.
