Our Summer and Fall Farm School Tours are the perfect addition to any curriculum. We have 5 distinct tours for you to choose from, which provide a unique glimpse into life on Fraser Valley and BC Farms and the work that goes into producing the foods that they eat every single day.
All of our tours meet core requirements of the curriculum of the British Columbia Ministry of Education and explain the science behind the agriculture in a way that is both fun and easy to understand.

SPRING TOUR
Bees, Blossoms and Berries Tour
Our Bees, Blossoms and Berries Tour is a great way to wrap up the school year with a fun and informative look at one of a farmer’s best friends: the bee! Students will learn about the essential role that bees play in pollination and the growth of healthy plants, and they will also have the opportunity to safely examine a real beehive up close in our bee centre. Finally, the class will plant a strawberry basket to take back to the classroom so that they can personally observe the plants growth and development. A hay wagon ride around our scenic farm and some free time to visit our Kidz Corral Play Zone and the animals in the Critter Corral are also included.
Available April to June.
SPRING TOUR
The Big Red Strawberry Hunt Tour
The Big Red Strawberry Hunt Tour offers a look at our favourite crop here at Maan Farms: our famous strawberries. Learning about just what it takes to make a strawberry plant grow from a tiny seed into a juicy BC Strawberry will help the students appreciate them even more when they have the chance to pick a delicious handful for themselves. Our strawberry farm tour also includes a hay wagon ride around the Abbotsford farm and the opportunity to visit our Kidz Corral Play Zone and the animals in the Critter Corral.
Available June.
FALL TOUR
Corn Here, Corn There, Corn Everywhere! Tour
The Corn Here, Corn There, Corn Everywhere! Tour is a great way to start a new school year. Students will have the opportunity to learn about how corn grows from a seed into a mature plant, find out some fun corn facts (did you know that corn is actually a fruit, and not a vegetable?), and discover the many uses of corn in our daily lives. Students will also have the chance to enjoy an authentic harvest tradition by barbecuing corn on an open fire at the low cost of $1 per student (weather permitting). The corn farm tour incorporates a hay wagon ride around our scenic Fraser Valley farm to view our other crops, as well as some free time to visit our Kidz Corral Play Zone and the animals in the Critter Corral.
Available September and October.
FALL TOUR
Papa Joe's A-Maze-ing Fun Tour
Kids love getting lost in Papa Joe’s Corn Maze, Sunflower Labyrinth & Rope Maze, but don't worry; they'll all find their way out again in time to catch the bus. This fun and informative tour is a favorite of students and teachers alike, and includes an up-close look at the work that goes into the agricultural process, as well as a segment on the many benefits of local BC farms. A hay wagon ride around the our Abbotsford farm and the opportunity to visit our Kidz Corral Play Zone and the animals in the Critter Corral are staples of this tour.
Available September and October.
FALL TOUR
The Pumpkin Patch Tour
Our last tour of the year is also one of our most popular. The Pumpkin Patch Tour is a great way for students to learn about everyone’s favorite squash just in time for Halloween. The tour includes a hay wagon trip to the pumpkin patch where the kids will learn about how pumpkins grow and are able pick their own to take home, as well as lots of fun pumpkin facts (did you know the biggest pumpkin ever grown was 1810.5 lbs.?). As always, this pumpkin patch school farm tour also includes a hay wagon ride around picturesque Fraser Valley farm and the opportunity to visit our Kidz Corral Play Zone and the animals in the Critter Corral.
