Green Statement

Every responsible family farmer is concerned with promoting strong and sustainable environmental practices.  Our farm is no exception.  As people whose livelihood relies upon producing healthy, tasty, vegetables and berries, we know that careful stewardship is required to nurture a plant from the small seed planted in the field all the way to the juicy berries and crops sold in our country market.  We also know that people trust us to provide them with produce that is nutritious, appetizing, and free from unnecessary chemicals and sprays.

That is why Maan Farms grows many of our crops %100 pesticide free, and why, when we do use pesticides, we comply strictly with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada standards.  In doing so, we limit the crops exposure to the minimum possible effective dosage, and ensure that only the most eco-friendly sprays are used, so that our plants are able to thrive while the harmful weeds and pest plants which negatively impact the health of the crops are removed.  Additionally, because our berries and vegetables are locally produced and sold, they are not exposed to the high levels of pesticides and other chemicals that are applied to produce crated and shipped from the southern United States and South America.
